Did you know that dance classes nurture your child's imagination?
Whilst dance pursues athleticism and beauty, from a young age we emphasise storytelling and expression as an important part of dance.
Sometimes in class we will listen to a piece of music and ask what it sounds like, or what it makes us see in our heads, what we think is happening. We then improvise this or work out a short sequence together, working on facial expressions and actions (mime).

This is something you can do at home or in the car - play any kind of music (classical is particularly good, though!) and see what ideas they come up with... and share with them what it makes YOU think of.
Parts 3-5 coming soon!
